We invite you to join us for two days of blended traditions to celebrate this milestone in our relationship.

During this weekend we hope that each one of you is able to fully enjoy the experiences that we've planned including connecting with others and eating delicious food. After the weekend has concluded we hope that you remember a joyful experience and a sense of community (and that you liked the food).

Exploring Hamilton

Hamilton? more like Hamilfun! We've got the map for you below (it's been updated), and now are adding a few other 'hot tips' for enjoying "The Winnipeg of Ontario":


  • The Vibe Hamilton is a weekly e-newsletter sharing about loads of upcoming events in the city. There's a Recurring Vibe that you can check out for events that happen regularly.
  • Hamilton pizzeria Cowabunga won the best slice of cheese pizza award at the International Pizza Challenge in 2024! In our opinion it's not the best pizza in town but, hey, we're not the judges of this competition.
  • Thank you to Tourism Hamilton for putting together a list of Heated Rivalry filming locations across the city.
  • Choice Indian Restaurant. A famous Ahmedabad restaurant now in Hamilton - some of Shail's favorites are the Bhakri Pizza (spicy!), Hara Bhara Kebab and the Butter Dabeli.

This will be a casual come-and-go event. There is parking behind the church for anyone with accessibility needs and free street parking as well as a parking lot at the school across the street. Walk behind the building and enter through the back door. Henna artists will be available to decorate your hands (if you wish) and there will be both sweet and savory food to enjoy as you mingle.

The first stage of this event is a Baarat -- the Bride's side gathers in the church foyer and the Groom's side gathers across the street. The Groom's side enters the church in a sort of 'parade'. Once inside, the two families meet and greet one another. After that, guests remove their shoes, enter the sanctuary, and finding a seat (no assigned seating). The wedding ceremony takes place in the sanctuary. After the ceremony has concluded, guests travel to the the reception location.

There's ample parking at this location and the entire property is ours to use. Cocktail hour begins at 5pm followed by dinner, speeches, presentations, and a Garba lesson. Following the lesson you can choose-your-own adventure with a silent disco and/or other activities. The party will wind down by 1am.

Overall: Lean in to colour -- with the specific request that no one dress in all white, or in all black.

Day 1 is less formal. Feel free to wear something more casual (though you're welcome to dress up). For those who would like to have henna applied to their hands/arms, please wear clothing that allows for this (your clothing may brush up against the paste and be stained).

Day 2 is for dressing up a bit. We anticipate that guests will wear the same outfit for both Day 2 events. Brightly coloured saris, suits, dress shirts, pantsuits, dresses...your choice!

Thank you for being willing to travel far from your own comfortable beds to join us in Hamilton, Ontario!

We have had the opportunity to visit both hotels listed below and can confidently recommend them. The two hotels are within walking distance from one another.

With no traffic, the drive from the hotels to the church is about 15 minutes (with traffic it could take closer to 25 minutes). The drive to Sunday’s reception venue is about the same timing.

Option 1: TownePlace Suites by Marriott Hamilton

This hotel is about five years old and specializes in longer-term stays, which means that all rooms have a kitchenette. There is a pool, an exercise room, and on-site laundry. Option 2: Holiday Inn Express Hamilton – Upper James

This hotel is less than two years old and is a pretty standard hotel—there is an exercise room and on-site laundry. Holiday Inn Express doesn’t offer a block of rooms but they do offer a discount on the standard rates. Click the link below for more info.

Getting to Hamilton, Ontario

For those of you who are hopping on a plane to celebrate with us, thank you! Toronto Pearson International Airport is the biggest airport nearby. Traveling between the airport and Hamilton can be done by train, bus, shuttle, or car. There is a GO bus (Route 40) from Terminal 1 Pearson International Airport to Hamilton GO Centre—fare details and schedules are available on the GO Transit website.

The John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport is very small and a lot closer to us. Traveling from this airport into the city can be done by bus, shuttle, or car.

Traveling between accommodation and venues is easiest by car. Hamilton does have a public transit system, and we have Uber/taxis as well.

Thank you for visiting our Gift Registry page -- please feel no obligation to bring a gift, your presence is gift enough as we are most excited about bringing our communities together and are already feeling some FOMO that we're not able to sit at every single table and hang out with all of you over Sunday dinner.
We've been given the advice that some people will want to bring a gift and "you may as well ask for things that you want". It is in that spirit that we have curated a list of items that we anticipate enjoying for years to come. If you choose to purchase an item from the list (or a similar item to one on the list), please indicate on this page that the item has been purchased (we're hoping to avoid the classic we-got-five-toasters situation).
